SPLENDID GENESIS: A RARE CELEBRATION CARD CREATED BY RICHARD GARFIELD.  
  
Richard limited the production of this card to a mere 110 copies.
Created to celebrate a landmark event in his life, the birth of his first child, they were given to  only to close friends and highly regarded Wizards of the Coast employees.
The Splendid Genesis has become not only highly sought by advanced collectors, but is also an extremely rare and valuable part of Magic's rich history.

Of all 110 cards produced, this is the ONLY known copy signed by both Richard Garfield, and Monique Thirifay.  This particular copy came from a former production manager at WOTC who was allowed to have his pick of the litter right off the press.  With Richard Garfield standing next to him, he literally held the entire stack of all 110 cards in his hand.  In doing this he took note of the rough cut along the right edge of most if not all of the cards then carefully chose what he felt was the nicest card in the stack. 

Upon request he asked Richard to sign his copy and it was with this same pen (metallic Pink) that Monique Thirifay also used to sign her name.  According to the census this is the only copy  signed by Monique Thirifay, an elusive and highly regarded signature in the world of CCG's.

This card features arguably one of the best pieces of art ever used on a magic card, certainly the nicest of the 3 original celebration cards.  It is without question a very special card created by Richard Garfield celebrating the birth of his first child and this is the VERY FIRST Card taken from the production line. 

The signatures are authenticated and graded by BGS.  Both signatures obtained the exceptionally grades of BGS 9.0.  Not an easy task to accomplish when using metallic ink on MTG's gloss type card stock, especialy within a confined space.  

The signature placements are perfect and only add to the card rather than detract. 

The Signature Placement and choice of metallic ink, which complements the Black and White tones of the card along with the providence make this a very special example of the original 110 cards produced and a very special card representing a rare, exemplary and unique piece of Magic history.

This is the Highest Graded signed Copy and the ONLY KNOWN DOUBLE SIGNED COPY.
